It also features an access point mode, which allows you to simply connect the extender to your router via an Ethernet cable and create a dual-band WiFi access point.

A standby connection to the router can be configured to improve network reliability. Once the original connection (2.4GHz or 5GHz) between the extender and the router fails, the Mi extender will automatically create a connection via another band. The Smart Signal Indicator easily helps you choose the suitable place to install the extender. It also lets you know the running status of the extender. The Xiaomi Mi WiFi Range Extender AC1200 works with any WiFi router. You can also use the Mi Home App to easily manage or set up the extender.
